Industry Guests Mary Georgescu, Michael Guigliano, and Rob (Moltenink) Lundy will be attending Breakout 2020!
Mary Georgescu is first generation American-Romanian game designer, artist, writer and company founder of Haiduc LLC, a medium agnostic, story-driven game studio. When not producing games she can be found taking long walks, lecturing on pixel art, and mentoring new game designers and artists. Her most ambitious project to-date which made its premier at Pixel Pop Festival in 2019 is Starry Messengers, a letter writing ttrpg about the suppression of scientific research and the communities that burgeon from it.
Michael Guigliano has a degree in Secondary English Education and a Masters in Literacy Education from Syracuse University. Along his journey, Michael has become a published game designer. His first design, Batman: The Animated Series - Gotham City Under Siege, published by IDW Games, hit the market in 2018. Co-designed by veteran designer Richard Launius, the game has over ten thousand copies sold, with its first expansion hitting the shelves December, 2019. 2019 also saw the development and success of the inaugural CuseCon, a board game convention in Syracuse, NY, organized by Michael. Michael is currently organizing CuseCon 2020, set for October 1-4. For the majority of the past decade, Michael has worked alongside Floodgate Games and Funko Games through event planning and coordination. More recently, Michael helped Funko Games roll out their first board game, Funkoverse, at Gen Con. Michael is currently under contract with two companies for two upcoming game designs, and in discussion on three other designs. This 2019-20 school year, Michael has been working on bringing a project-based, game design course to a group of 10th grade honors students. This opportunity has provided a glimpse into the success of higher level learning through board games.
Rob (Moltenink) Lundy is an Animator and Digital Artist from the Nation’s Capital who is most well known for yelling into his microphone during his art streams on Twitch.
Rob has spent the last 15 years bringing a list of cartoons as long as his arm to life such as TBS’s Final Space and DC’s Super Hero Girls. He has tackled everything from animation, to character design, to compositing.
Determined to find an extra 4 hours in the day he decided to lend his illustration and writing abilities to the board game world as well. Producing a number of games with TMG, Rob went on to help them break some early Kickstarter records with Dungeon Roll and some critical acclaim with Harbour and Harvest, as well as sci-fi themed games like Eminent Domain and 3-4 Headed Monster.
If that isn’t enough for you, you can find some of his comic book work floating around the Looking For Group site or find Rob himself doing development work on personal game designs, writing graphic novels or running as many DnD campaigns as he can squeeze into a month live at twitch.tv/moltenink
