Helaina Cappel is an elementary school teacher, a game designer, and a publisher with a number of successful titles under her belt. As a publisher, she focuses on creating accessible games for gamers and non-gamers. Some of their titles include Foodfighters, Haunt the House, Bugs on Rugs, and Wreck Raiders. Helaina, along with her husband Josh, co-founded Burnt Island Games, which focuses on mid-weight games such as Endeavor: Age of Sail, Endeavor: Age of Expansion, and In the Hall of the Mountain King. Helaina lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
